Johannesburg, South Africa - After unveiling their newest collection designed to infuse relaxation, sophistication, and elegance into the fashion landscape at South African Fashion Week Spring Summer 2024, Rubicon has sparked considerable excitement within the fashion world.
Celebrating South African glamour, Rubicon's classic capsule collection delivered sophistication and flair at this seasons showcase.
Rubicon’s founder and lead designer, Hangwani Nengovhela brought to life a collection that was both ethereal and practical. Inspired by the African safari landscape, Nengovhela drew inspiration from the brand's past silhouettes, colours, and artform, adding elements of glamour from the brand two decades rich history.
Nengovhela is frequently asked to predict the new season’s trends and to that she smiles and shakes her head.
I don’t believe in trends, I believe in classics. I believe that if there is to be a trend for the season it is “to make the ‘old’ new again while giving a modern twist to traditional silhouettes, fabrics, and style.
Rubicon’s new collection included a range of ready to wear, designer-quality garments with a nod to the brand's past design aesthetic. This means safari prints, earthy colours, as well as bold colours tones that will suit any skin-tone or body type.
Coupled with exquisite unique jewellery pieces from Jenna Clifford, the collection was well received getting a nod from not just the local fashion elite, but global approval as well.
We were very excited to present our latest collection and participate in SA Fashion Week once more this season. The collection was warmly embraced by South Africa's fashion elite who were in attendance, stated Nengovhela.Guests in attendance at the showcase this season included Rubicon family: the fashion forward businesswoman Kim Jayde, TV anchor Abigail Visagie, fashion magazine editor Nontando Mposo, fashion industry influencer Margo Fargo, Proudly SA CMO Happy Ngidi and publicist extraordinaire Melanie Ramjee.
