Coconut Confidential: A New Animated Web Series Tells The Story Of An Awkward Teen Struggling To Understand The Complexity Of Interracial Friendship



Coconut Confidential is a new all-African produced animated comedy web series created and written by Lindiwe Suttle Mueller-Westernhagen about her American high school life set in the 1990s. 

Synopsis: The web series tells a story about a meek Black teenager that sets out to win back her Black BFF. But rekindling their friendship won’t be easy, they’ve moved in different racial social circles. Forget what Michael Jackson said, it matters if your friends are Black or white in this south Georgia high school. 

Coconut Confidential is directed by Gbenga Emmanuel Ajetomobi. Produced by Nambita Ntsaluba. Animated by Highbreed Animations (Lagos, Nigeria). Voiced by Candice Modiselle as young Lindi and Noxolo Dlamini as Hanna Kim Engelbrecht as adult Lindi, Nambita Ntsaluba as Shameka and Amanda Du-Pont as Melissa. 

According to Lindiwe, the web series will start with six episodes and she's also writing a feature film on it too.
