It is that time of the year again when renowned international and local writers come together to showcase at Africa's bespoke literary event. The annual Open Book Festival will be held in Cape Town from 6-10 September 2017 at the Fugard Theatre, The District 6 Museum Homecoming Centre and indie bookshop, The Book Lounge.
The five-day event features literary material delivered in form of discussions, performances, readings and workshops.
This year's line-up will see authors such as Ayọ̀bámi Adébáyọ̀ (Nigeria), Petina Gappah (Zimbabwe), Mwanza Mujila (DRC), Iman Verjee (Kenya), Nathan Hill (USA), Alex Wheatle (UK), Scaachi Koul (Canada) alongside South Africa's Pumla Gqola, Malebo Sephodi, Thabiso Mofokeng, SJ Naudé, Chwayita Ngamlana and Thuli Nhlapo to name a few.

Not only is the annual festival a great gathering for storytellers, it also plays a significant and sustainable contribution by building a love of reading and books among the youth of Cape Town.
