Kenyan Filmmaker's Illustrations Featured In Plan International's Girls Takeover Campaign

In case you missed it, October 11 is globally known as International Day of the Girl. Kenyan animater/filmmaker, Ng'endo Mukii is one of the creatives whose animation was used as part of the campaign The animation is titled "The Conductor".

 

 Talk about using your imagination for a greater good. I like how Nge'ndo uses her art to depict relevant messages, be it through advocacy campaigns or enlightening us about current issues the list is endless. Shine, Ng'endo.

On International Day of the Girl, girls from over 50 countries led 250 takeovers of global leaders in government, media, police and the UN.

 The campaign is spearheaded by Plan International, a development and humanitarian organisation founded in 1937 that advances children’s rights and equality for girls. Their objective is to strive for a just world, working together with children, young people, supporters and partners; working with children, young people and communities to tackle the root causes of discrimination against girls, exclusion and vulnerability. Plan International is active in over 70 countries.
