NOYO Closet launched its debut collection on Friday 4
2014 and the response has been overwhelming.
Afropolitan is the new word on everyone’s lips. So why
not wear it?
Head designers Nontando Mposo and Yolanda Matyolo put
their heads together to conceptualize this African print range, which is inspired
by motifs the continent.
NOYO Closet, as it is known, is the combination of
their names and their spirits. Nontando is a Journalist and Fashion and Lifestyle
Blogger and Yolanda, a Town Planner.
Nontando says these are the sort of clothes you will
find in their own closets. “We have identified a gap in the market for
affordable African print wear,” says Nontando
“It’s very hard to find tailored print wear in
retailers. We started making stuff for ourselves and then we saw the demand
when people asked us where our clothes were from,” she says.
At this point, they decided to share their closet.
NOYO closet is a brand that brings about innovation
into your day-to- day look,
inspired by the non-apologetic bold statements of African print fabrics,” says Yolanda “We design clothes that
can be easily worn to your local tshisa
nyama like Mzoli’s and yet effortlessly found
in the boardroom talking business” she says
NOYO Closet designs for semi-formal and casual outings
for women and men. Our prices range from R250 to R450
“We target upcoming professionals who aren’t afraid of
colour and bold prints. You’d be surprised at how adventurous young people are
with clothing choices these days,” says Nontando
Plans are afoot to take NOYO Closet to Europe, an
effort to make it an international brand.
Although they are based in Cape Town, clothing can be
posted at the customer’s cost.
We find the materials, from african prints to
the latest fabrics on the market, to suit your personality. Order here>email
