'Ngiyadansa'- An Adaptation of Pamela Nomvete's 'Dancing to the Beat of the Drum' Premiers At the Jo’burg Theatre On April 29th

Former Generations actress Pamela Nomvete is in South Africa for a play titled Ngiyadansa, an adaptation of her book, 'Dancing to the Beat of the Drum' which premiers at the Jo'burg Theatre on 29th April - 4th May 2014.

In the book she shares her story of trials and tribulations from being on the biggest local soapie in the country to sleeping in her car before she left for London where she later appeared as on the British Soap Opera, Coronation Street.

The play is written and directed by Pamela Nomvete with poetry by South African renowned poet, Lebo Mashile.

According to the Thespian, "Given the high profile I once carried, I thought if people witness me telling my story on this open platform, they will have the courage to tell theirs and together we can work to building and encouraging one another to be the best that we can be."

Tickets can be purchased at the Jo'burg Theatre at R120 and R80 for students.

If the book title is anything to go by, the play promises to be interesting and so does the book. If you're in Johannesburg, you can make a short left to the Jo'burg Theatre.
Nothing as refreshing as people telling their own story.
