World renowned singer, composer, percussionist and songwriter, Youssou N'Dour is using his platform as an influential figure to call for peace in the war stricken Central African Republic.
The Senegalese artist has recorded a song titled 'One Africa' with a mixture of lyrics in French and Mamba comprias well as his trademark Mbalax rhythms. The song for peace is performed by Central African Republic vocalist Idylle Mamba.
The African country has been facing political instability characterised by religious conflict between Christians and Muslims. The song is an emotional call for peace in the troubled CAR where Christians and Muslims remain at war with each other.
The video features images of Senegal’s first president Léopold Sédar Senghor (A Christian leader in a predominantly Muslim country, he was an example of religious tolerance), Muslim imams and Christian pastors in the CAR holding hands amid the destruction of the conflict that has left the country unstable and a humanitarian crisis. Displaced people including women and children are also included in video images.

I hope the message in this song serves its purpose and reaches the right people.
