The award is open to print and broadcast journalists from Africa and in the Diaspora.
The first winner walks away with $5000; the second and third prize winners will take away $3000 and $2000 respectively.
Prospective contestants are expected to submit two original feature stories on the activities of AMAA within the past 9 years, and which must be submitted on or before March 31, 2014.
For journalists who do not have published work or who want to submit two fresh stories are advised, however, to submit such stories written between December 1, 2013 and March 31st, 2014 to media@ama-awards.com.

Winners will be announced and rewarded during this year’s AMAA prestigious ceremony in April, 2014.
