Beneath The Lies is a brand new Ugandan TV series about to hit your screens in December and will be released across the East African region (Uganda,Tanzania, Rwanda and Kenya).
East Africa's most anticipated drama boasts a star-studded cast featuring some of Uganda's famous media personalities such as Gaetano Kagwa, Flavia Tumusiime, Raba Daba (music artist), and Patrick "Salvado" Idringii (Comedian) amongst others.
Set within Uganda's capital, Kampala, the 12 part TV series is directed by the renowned brilliant Kenyan director Tosh Gitonga. The audience is taken into the dark side of the City filled with extortion, drug trafficking, the exploitation of women and child prostitution.
The story line further captures drama revolving around the life of two females, sold as children into prostitution, and their plight to escape a life filled with blackmail, manipulation and murder. The audiences are introduced to the characters they encounter, from the seedy bar rooms in the ghettos, to the clientele of the city’s rich and powerful. Slowly it becomes apparent that escaping isn't as easy as they planned, and perhaps targeting a certain man will help them. Their target: a young powerful player in the judicial system, the wrong man.
The series also explores the extreme lengths both the rich and the poor are willing to go in order to survive.
